The CrossFit Games 2021 are on the horizon, and many of the participants are incredibly excited. There will be women's competitions in addition to the regular men's and women's competitions. We're all familiar with the Reebok's equipment, the Pegboard contest, and the Cutting system. But what do we know about the womens' competition? Continue reading to find out! Women's competition

This morning, the women's competition began at the 2021 Crossfit Games with the swim event. Tia-Clair Toomey-Orr and Jonne Koski won in the first event. After maintaining her lead throughout competition, Koski was declared the overall winner. Tall finished second and Eramoo O’Connell third, respectively. It was the first Games women's event and the women hoped to complete it.

The field is full of top-level athletes in the women's competition. The field features nine athletes, including a 19 year-old Australian powerhouse who won this competition last year. Other contenders are Australian athlete Kara Saunders, who finished second in Australia and eleventh worldwide in 2020. Andrea Nisler, a rising star who competed for the team division in 2018, finished third in America and fifteenth overall in 2020. This competition will include these athletes and Sara Sigmundsdottir of Iceland, a newcomer to Crossfit. She won the first place Medal at the World Crossfit Games earlier.

Pegboard contest

Pegboard at Crossfit Games 2020 was a first. It was added to Crossfit Games' summer Olympic program alongside double-unders & dumbbell overhead Squats. Toomey-Orr held the record for most Games wins with 30. Sager won Event 11 and became the Games' third winner. There were several tie in the contest but Toomey Orr's dominance was too strong to stop him winning.

Athletes train for the CrossFit Games by focusing on ten general physical fitness skills: cardiovascular endurance, strength, flexibility, power, speed, and agility. Pegboard tests the grip strength and coordination of competitors. A scale is used to determine the strength and coordination of competitors. Cutting system

CrossFit Games has a new cutting system for individual competition. It's not as extreme as the cuts used in past Games, but still very different than this year. CrossFit must also answer the question of how it will adjust the points following cuts. Castro's system was strongly criticised by former Games participants, who felt that cuts were too substantial.

Reebok has released new CrossFit Games shoes, clothing and equipment. The Nano X1 shoes are the new model. They're made to fit multiple fitness needs. Reebok has billed this shoe as "the shoe of fitness," but it actually feels more like a traditional training shoe.
